CENTRAL THERMAL ACADEMY (CTA)

EMMAY in a joint venture with In-Consult (Pvt) Ltd is providing consultancy for setting up CTA at WAPDA town, Lahore for providing training to 1000 engineers & technicians per year, for the next 10 years, both for  government and private sector thermal power stations coming up in the country till the year 2004
 
Activities involved:

• Development and Design of Infrastructure
• Staffing requirements
• Lists of Software, Courses, Manuals, Lesson Plans required for Thermal Generation operation and maintenance  training
• Audio visual laboratory establishment
• Training of Trainers
• Writing new curricula and revising/updating existing curricula in association with foreign consultants, if approved by WAPDA
• The WAPDA Training Academy has been necessitated because the existing four Thermal Wing, Training Centres located at the sites of the large thermal stations at Multan, Guddu, Faisalabad & Jamshoro are inadequate with respect of infra-structure, hardware/software, etc to meet the needs of trained manpower. The lower subordinate staff will continue to be trained in these centres. Because of lack of funds the civil structures have been delayed.
